Artist talk - Practice and process - The White Series and new work

Linda Kosciewicz creates her images in a similar way to constructing a virtual film set – its part artist performance and part constructed worlds using a range of sources and media. Examples of her photo etching plates, prints, drawings, and photo positives will be available to illustrate aspects of her working practice and process. Linda hopes to have a lively discussion about her current art practice.

Recent work

Linda Kosciewicz is known for her artwork about the human condition, female identity, and emotions in relation to the human body. This exhibition presents her White Series which explores the cultural and symbolic aspects of the colour white - sexuality, innocence, life, death, purity and transience alongside exciting, evocative and beautiful new work.

She continues to explore the theme of female identity in her new work and also the human condition and freedom. Her images are a complex bringing together of her ideas and images. They are part performance and part constructed worlds with influences ranging from sculpture, visual art, the built and natural environments, literature - Shakespeare, Alastair Gray, etc to the cinema through films such as Bladerunner and Mulholland Drive.
